1. Who we are

Brazil Company Setup is a corporate services brand operated by ABDO Advogados ("we", "us"), a law firm established in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (Rua 5 de Abril, 258). ABDO Advogados is the controller of personal data collected through this website. Contact: jamil@abdo.com.br.

2. Data we collect

• Enquiry data you submit through our forms, email or WhatsApp: name, email, phone, country, company, business description and any information you choose to include.
• Engagement data required to provide legal and corporate services once you become a client: identification documents, corporate documents, tax and financial information, and immigration records.
• Technical data collected automatically: IP address, browser type, pages visited and approximate location, through server logs and, where enabled, analytics cookies.

3. Why we process it

• To respond to your enquiry and prepare a proposal (legitimate interest and pre-contractual steps).
• To perform the engagement letter and comply with legal obligations applicable to law firms, including anti-money-laundering and know-your-client rules (performance of contract; legal obligation).
• To operate, secure and improve this website (legitimate interest).
• To send professional updates, only where you have opted in (consent, revocable at any time).

4. Sharing

We share personal data only as necessary to deliver the services: with Brazilian public authorities (Board of Trade, Federal Revenue, Central Bank, immigration authority), banks and financial institutions, sworn translators, notaries, and IT providers bound by confidentiality. We do not sell personal data.

5. International transfers

Because our clients are located abroad, data is necessarily transferred between Brazil and your country. Transfers are made under the mechanisms permitted by the LGPD and, where applicable, the GDPR or other foreign rules.

6. Retention

Enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months if no engagement follows. Client files are retained for the periods required by Brazilian professional, tax and anti-money-laundering rules, generally five to ten years after the end of the engagement.

7. Your rights

You may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymisation, portability, deletion, information on sharing and revocation of consent, by writing to the email above. We respond within the periods set by law. You may also lodge a complaint with the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

9. Professional secrecy

Information shared with ABDO Advogados in the context of legal advice is additionally protected by the professional secrecy rules applicable to Brazilian attorneys under the Brazilian Bar Statute and the OAB Code of Ethics.
